There are nine different kinds of word in English. They are called 'word classes' or 'parts of speech'.
A part of speech-one of the classes into which words are divided according to their grammar, such as noun, verb, adjective, etc.
Marta is having an important test at school tomorrow . So She is rather busy.
Parts of speech
1. Verb- a word or group of words that expresses an action, an event or a state e.g am, having
2. Noun- a word that refers to a person, a place, or a thing, a quality or an activity.. e.g school, Marta, test.
3. Adjctive-a word that describes a person or thing e.g. important, busy
4.Adverb- adds information about the action, event. e.g. tomorrow, rather
5. Preposition-a word or group of words, used before a noun or pronoun to show place, position, time e.g. at
6. Determiner- is a word which is used at the beginning of a noun group to indicate. e.g. an
7.Pronounis a word that takes the place of a noun. Pronouns can be in one of three cases: subject, object, or possessive e.g. she
8. Linking word or conjunction -a word that joins words, phrases or sentences e.g. so.
9.Interjection-a short sound, word or phrase spoken suddenly to express an emotion. e.g. Oh!
