How men see women - aren't we sometimes just items?

I love his sense of humor. He asked me about my plans for future because he treated me seriously. He'd like to have somebody for longer this time and so would I. Some people say he's not as intelligent as I am but he studies some politic major and I don't really see the thing that those people do. They also say he doesn't deserve me, as I usually hear, but this time I perfectly know they're right.
He doesn’t respect all women. He thinks that if he’s sporty and handsome then the same should be women. When we were sitting and watching people, probably mostly widely understood ‘ladies’, he looked at them and commented like ‘look, she’s got so big bottom’ or ‘oh, she’s fat’. He said he hoped I didn’t believe in, as he called it ‘fairytales’, like being good-looking and meeting someone who’s not. He also said I should sunbath more. When I asked what would happen if I put on weight he only said it would be bad and gave me that suspicious look.
I know almost no man will admit that appearance is the most precious in his girlfriend. Even the one I’m seeing at the moment denies though it’s obvious. I wondered if those cynic remarks are to check me and my reactions but it seems they’re not.
I’m not saying every boy only wants an attractive girl and maybe nice to talk to but I think I can say most of them do. It’s not an attack. It’s only my honest ‘remark’.
I know I’m smart and talkative but he makes me not feel it has any matter. No wonder many girls don’t know their worth.
