Drogunov (code GRAU 6in1, Polish KBW designate SWD) - (Russian Снайперская Винтовка Драгунова - Elite rifle Drogunov) constructed in the sixties of the twentieth century Soviet semi-automatic rifle.
At the turn of the 50s and 60 Twentieth century, the Red Army command decided to launch a contest for a new semi-automatic rifle, sniper version of the successor repeated Mosin rifle wz. 1891/30. The new weapon was to be one of the weapons team or a platoon of soldiers and to enable the effective destruction of man's greatness of the distance to 1300 m.
