Village of the Damned by John Carpenter

John Carpenter is well-known as an original horror movie maker. Some of his works are really popular, for example: Halloween, Escape from New York or The Thing. But there is other interesting title by Carpenter, which you really like, if you are a horror fan.
In 1995 he directed Village of the Damned, but to be honest, this movie wasn't very popular, despite it has great atmosphere and kept in suspense. The plot is also intriguing: In small seaside village something really odd happened: All citizens had blackout at the exact same time. Short after that unexplained event, Dr. Alan Chaffee (Chrstopher Reeve) discover that every women in town is pregnant. But the real nightmare starts, when the children born...
Unfortunately there aren't strong and memorable characters in this movie. That's a pity, because it's one of the last movie in Christopher Reeve career. Reeve has accident in the same year, and hasn't chance to develop his talent. In 80' Reeve turned down mamy interesting lead roles in popular movie: The Bounty, Body Heat, Romancing the Stone, and Total Recall!
Even if Village of the Damned is not perfect, I can recommend it to everyone who like to be scared.
