The way i learned to speak english

I'm just 13 but my english is on a high level (atleast I think like that...), I can talk with native american and talk pretty freely, maybe I could make some small mistakes, but overall that would be communicative conservation. Someone probably scratches his head and says to himself: "How'd he learned it?". Well, I'll answer you, here you go.

I was young (around 4...) when I've first seen english... In game (Unreal, old unreal...classic) I didn't understand much, I was asking my older brother or sister about something i didn't know, they always (well not always, sometimes they couldn't) what does this, this and this mean. I was playing alot of games, mainly in english and I was in need of someone who could translate everything. This way I learned basic words in english.

I was bit older (maybe 8) and I still needed more knowledge, "I'd like to watch english websites without anyone help!" - I said. I was very determinated and patient. When my brother or sister wasn't able to help me I used online dictionary to help me. Slowly my word bank was bigger... and bigger... (I would like to notify you that i didn't have english in grade school, I learned german and somehow I'm worse in german than in english).

Around 10 i felt confident enough and I've begun to chat with foreigners, surprisingly I could understand alot of words and they could understand ME! I really liked it and talked more and more... Ocasionally I learned grammatic and word spelling by this :3

Now I'm 13, I'm still learning and the God blessed me with this site, e-ang... I'm so happy I've found this site. With it my english will be even better and I will do what I like the most - help others.

PS. I don't remember exactly my age when I was on respective "stages" of my education so don't sue me :P

Oh and I would forgot... The most important thing in this is to belive in yourself. Faith is a strong thing that will let you do everything. You need to know that all the knowledge will come sooner or later, you must be patient. I was young and I didn't think of super fast learning of this language. And now I have a pretty big amount of words in my head.

I also started learing English very quickly but I wasn't so jung. My cousin teached me and my friends simple words when we was 12. Next I went on course although teacher let in vocabulary and English times from high level he never checked our knowleadge by tests and something like that. And I'm convinced it extorts learning so I was disappointed. I know I could learn on my own's account but I didn't think like that than but I have to admit I learned much than :) I certainly agree with you, faith is important. When I registered on this website I was afraid if I will have keenness because I have flash in the pan but ... it was two years ago and I'm still here and what's the most important I can see progress. I have to say I admire you that you want to learn English so much, I think it will yield interest :) Good luck!

Well, I also think the speed of learning new stuff is determined by how you need it in life. If someone surfs on polish websites full of neo kids (I'm surfing mainly on english sites and when you compare them to our... no comment) then he doesn't need english. But I think everyone should know english, it's a VERY easy (atleast for me) language to learn and you can talk with almost everyone on the world (that's why there's poster in my school with words "Learn english, open the door to the world").

Thank you for correct my errors :).. I'll probably never know good English. Even now, I make mistakes..

I'm not from Gorzow, I'm from Warsaw :)
Actually Gossip Girl is a book and video :D
I wanted to ask from where you know English so well. I found the answer in a note. Wow, I admire you.. :P
