Do you like big parties coulorful vivid and bustling with activity?? Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro can fulfil all yours requirements:-)It is the world's greatest spectacle peaks beginning on Carnaval Friday February 1st 2008.
I'd like to write short article about it because I was always delighted with it' wealth and vibrant and my dream is to be there someday:-))
Rio de Janeiro houses hundreds of different samba schools, organized into a number of interconnected leagues. The major league is called “Grupo Especial”next are: "Mestre Sala", "Porta Bandeira", "Porto de Pedra" and so on.
During the 5 days of Carnaval there are many events which would be considered spectacular in any other City than Rio de Janeiro like Salvador and Recife:-)
Rio is the heart of Brazilian culture and the international symbol of its greatness. After Carnival has taken place, the nightly winners from each samba school participate in whats called the Champions Parade down the famed Sambadrome.
Each night during this crazy weekend over 60.000 spectators watch the contest live, while millions more tune in on TV to catch this feast for the senses. Even before the parade starts, the streets surrounding the parade area are closed to car traffic, while the grounds around this stadium are transformed into Carnaval Central. A main stage hosts a variety of acts and performances, and hundreds of vendors set up shop with food and drinks.
