Rat Race

I've been going to high school for half year and I noticed that most people here want to be the best in everything. It's quite annoying- they are usually talk about learning and school. They care about marks. In my opinion marks aren't very important. More important is what we can do in practice.

I don't like this 'Rat Race'. Students want to have better results than other, adults want to be richer than neighbor. But in life are more important things like love, family, friends... Today's world is very strange.

What do you think about Rat Race? Do you have
similar observations in your school/work?

I must say, You're right - that rat race is visible everywhere. Sometimes I can't understand this people - they want to be the best just to see that somebody else is worse. I agree with our aspiration in being the best but... I think we should take it easy, find one thing we like and do it for pleasure - that will make us better than these who do it just because...
I hope You'll meet only people who wouldn't tkink only about the Rat Race. And of course I wish You being the best ;) Take care

Maybe You're right, but whether this situation in school which you have discribed. Do You think that taking care of your marks are bad and strive to be the best is something bad?

Well, actually spending winter holiday on learning is some strange. I while whole winter holiday didn't touch any coursebook in order to learn. And even if I would learn, not because of desire to be better than others.

I agree with You in hundred percent, marks aren't the most important.. The most important is our knowledge. Where would you like to go when you leave grammar school? Do you wonder about it?
