Kangaroos live in Australia, New Guinea and Tasmania. They live on grassy plains, in thickets, rare forests and in the mountains. Larger kinds prefer an open spaces. The kangaroo is a national symbol of Australia: it is emblem is used on the Australian coat of arms, on some of its currency, as well as by some of Australia's best known organisations, including Qantas.
