English via Skype

Hello!
I'm going to launch a series of English classes via Skype. This idea came to my mind thanks to my visitors' comments. Before I really start those classes, are there any shortfalls of such classes I should avoid and counteract?
Do you have any experience in learning English via Skype?
Any remarks how to make remote teaching more effective?
